Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

Zero Tolerance Policy. JEBIM : Jurnal Ekonomi, Bisnis, dan Manajemen strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. We are committed to protecting the integrity of the scholarly record and strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Detection Tool

To ensure originality, every manuscript submitted to JEBIM is checked using Turnitin software before being sent to reviewers.

Similarity Thresholds

  1. Similarity Index < 20%: The manuscript is acceptable for the review process (provided matches are not clustered in the results/discussion sections).
  2. Similarity Index 20% - 25%: The manuscript is returned to the author for paraphrasing and revision before resubmission.
  3. Similarity Index > 25%: The manuscript is rejected immediately without review.

Note: The similarity check excludes the bibliography/reference list and direct quotations.

Types of Plagiarism

  • Verbatim Copying: Copying text from another source without quotation marks or proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing without Citation: Changing words but keeping the sentence structure of a source without giving credit.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing significant parts of one's own previously published work without attribution (text recycling).

Sanctions

  • Pre-publication: The manuscript is rejected, and the author may be barred from submitting to JEBIM for a specific period.
  • Post-publication: If plagiarism is proven after publication, the article is officially retracted and a retraction note is published.
