Peer Review Process

Review Policy INFOTERA maintains the highest standards of scientific rigor. Every submitted manuscript undergoes a Double-Blind Peer Review process, meaning the identities of the reviewers and authors are concealed from each other throughout the review process to ensure objectivity.

The Review Steps

  1. Initial Screening (Desk Review): Upon receipt, the Editor-in-Chief or a Section Editor will perform an initial check to ensure the manuscript fits the journal's Focus and Scope and adheres to the Author Guidelines.

    • Plagiarism Check: All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references) will be automatically rejected or returned for correction before proceeding.

  2. Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two (2) independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, reputation, and lack of conflict of interest.

  3. Review Criteria: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

    • Originality and Novelty: Does the paper contribute new knowledge?

    • Methodology: Is the research method sound, replicable, and appropriate?

    • Clarity and Structure: Is the argument logical and the writing clear?

    • Relevance: Does the topic align with current trends in Integrated Information Systems?

  4. Decision Making: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision. The possible decisions are:

    • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted without changes.

    • Revisions Required: The author must make minor or major revisions based on reviewer feedback.

    • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript needs significant reworking and another round of review.

    • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to lack of novelty, poor methodology, or out of scope.

Timeline We strive for a timely process. The typical duration from submission to the first decision is approximately 4 to 8 weeks.
